WHO IS TASHA MAE?

WHO IS TASHA MAE?

You may be wondering who Tasha Mae is, so let me tell you a little bit about me...

What have I done with my life? Well, I have raised 2 amazing children - my daughter, Ella, who graduated from the University of Brighton with a First Class Honours in 'Textiles with Business Studies' and now runs her own social media marketing business called 'Sociella', and my son, Jenson, who completed an apprenticeship studying horticulture at the Chewton Glen hotel and is still very much green fingered!

Whilst the children were growing up, I always looked forward to planning and organising their birthday parties. I always tried to think outside the box and come up with a different idea to make it memorable, not only for us but their friends too – this is where my passion for organising event’s started!

Many birthday parties later and with the children growing older I began to wonder what I could do for myself, so I decided to go back to study. I chose something I knew I would love, event management!

Aged 35 years I began studying an FDA in Tourism and Events Management at Bournemouth University, this lead me into a BA Honours in Hospitality and Tourism Management with event management attached. During my time at university I discovered a passion in fundraising for charity and began organising events in my spare time to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support. I organised a variety of events from disco’s to race-nights to barn dances and corporate golf days, all of which were a huge success. In doing this I formed many relationships with caterers, venue owners, graphic designers, entertainers, DJ’s – too many to mention!

My fundraising and event planning enabled me to take part in 3 overseas challenges. So far I have trekked The Great Wall of China, climbed the Atlas Mountains 3 Peaks and climbed Kilimanjaro, all of which were amazing experiences. These challenges have given me fantastic memories along with a great sense of achievement, raising over £20,000 for Macmillan Cancer Support, something which I am very proud of. I will never give up fundraising for charity - who knows where my next challenge will take me!

Having achieved all of this later in life I began to question how I could share the skills I have learnt and do something I am passionate about. So, after a bit of brainstorming here I am to help you hold the most amazing event you could dream of, an event that will make special memories not only for you, but your friends and family too.
